06 July 2017

Savills Studley, the leading commercial real estate firm specializing in tenant representation, today announced the arrival of Associate Directors Melissa Hershner, Barbara Newcomb and Cole Gonet in the firm’s Carolinas offices.

Hershner, based in the company’s Charlotte office, has joined the Project Advisory Services group, which provides comprehensive services for all aspects of strategic facility and building planning. Newcomb and Gonet have joined the Tenant Representation group in the Savills Studley Raleigh-Durham office. The pair will focus their practice on advising tenants and buyers in real estate matters.

“Melissa, Barbara and Cole’s expertise and client-centric approach is aligned with our company’s mission to provide high caliber, tenant-focused representation,” said Charlotte Market Leader Mark Ayers. “As the Southeast continues to experience rapid population and business growth, it is vital that we cultivate a dynamic and diverse workforce to meet the regional demands of our current and future clients.”

Hershner brings to Savills Studley nearly a decade of commercial real estate experience in the Charlotte, NC market. She maintains professional licenses as a real estate broker and a general contractor in the State of North Carolina, and she is a certified general real estate appraiser in North Carolina and South Carolina. In Hershner’s most recent role as Commercial Real Estate Analyst at Integra Realty Resources, she performed valuations on commercial property throughout the Carolinas, specializing in projects with extensive due diligence requirements. She regularly works with corporate clients to provide inclusive services that range from build-to-suits to smaller client moves. Hershner earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, cum laude, from Appalachian State University where she double majored in marketing and information systems.

After five years in Charlotte, NC, Newcomb joins Savills Studley with a thorough comprehension of market complexities and creative solutions for occupancy issues. As a former associate in the Tenant Representation group at CBRE, Inc., Newcomb worked to align tenants’ existing and future business needs with effective real estate strategies. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts in communication concentrated in public relations and a minor in Spanish. She is professionally licensed by the State of North Carolina.

Gonet has spent his commercial real estate career guiding tenants through all aspects of the leasing process, including market analyses, space selections and lease negotiations. Prior to Savills Studley, he was a member of the Tenant Representation group at Foundry Commercial, where he partnered with clients to learn the intricacies of their businesses and advised them on strategic real estate solutions. Gonet also worked at Cushman & Wakefield Thalhimer before joining Foundry Commercial. He is professionally licensed in the State of North Carolina and earned his Bachelor of Arts in communications from the University of Richmond.

“The addition of Melissa, Barbara and Cole further expands the offices’ leasing and project management capabilities and signals the firm’s growth in the region,” said Raleigh-Durham Co-Branch Manager Edwin Yarbrough. “We are happy to have this remarkable group of professionals join our teams here in the Carolinas.”

One year ago, Savills Studley expanded its brand presence in the Carolinas with the acquisition of the Cresa locations in Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham. Led by Ayers, Yarbrough and Raleigh-Durham Co-Branch Manager Tucker Shade, the growing offices continue to demonstrate superior analysis and measurable results for the area’s developing business community of financial, energy, corporate, nonprofit/education, manufacturing, medical, technology, biotech/life sciences and Fortune 500 firms. The Carolinas offices offer tenant-focused workforce, workplace and real estate solutions, including brokerage, project management, industrial services, capital markets, occupier services and corporate services.
