Investors point to QLD beachfront hotel motel as key buy

A multifaceted Hotel Motel in Hay Point boasting beachfront views has hit the market, offering buyers a chance to invest at an ideal point in the market due to a resurgence in mining activity.

The Hay Point Hotel Motel located at 1272 Hay Point Road in Queensland is being offered for sale via Auction by Savills Hotels QLD on Wednesday 20 June at Victoria Park Golf Complex.

The Freehold Going Concern sale is being handled by exclusive marketing agents Leon Alaban, Brent McCarthy and Christian Tsalikis of Savills Hotels.

The Auction is set to attract interest from local and interstate investors, with mining activity in the area forecast to revitalize both the local and state economy.

Senior Sales Executive of Savills Hotels in Queensland, Christian Tsalikis, said now is the ideal time to purchase the asset.

“The successful purchaser is presented with an opportunity to acquire the asset at a time where market conditions in the region are continuing to improve.

“With the local economy primarily underpinned by tourism, agriculture and mining activity, the influx of visitors to the area throughout this period has set the local economy on a steady incline,” Mr Tsalikis said.

The 2.025 hectare ocean front site located approximately 40km south of Mackay is only minutes from both the Dalrymple Bay and the BMA Hay Point coal terminals.

“The waterfront exposure is arguably the main attraction of the property, and a real investment highlight,

“The beachfront location provides patrons, diners, and lodgers with a relaxed and picturesque view,” Mr Alaban said.

The complex features a public bar complete with nine (9) Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs), a bistro bar and dining room plus alfresco dining space, a commercial kitchen, an additional gaming room with a further 26 EGMs, plus TAB and Keno.

Hay Point Hotel Motel also has a drive through bottle shop on site, with the wide array of facilities and accommodation a key attraction for investors set for what is predicted to be a hotly contested auction.

“The Hotel is the only general licence venue for approximately 23km, and therefore services the immediate catchment almost unopposed,” Mr McCarthy said.

The Auction will be taking place on Wednesday 20 June at 10:00am at Victoria Park Golf Complex, located at 309 Herston Road, Herston QLD 4006.
